Municipal fact sheets 2008

The Municipal Fact Sheets provide an overview of road crashes within a local government area for 2008 and provides a summary of crashes for the five year period 2004 - 2008. The data includes fatal and serious injury, road users and crash types.

The data can be used by local government and community groups to identify key road safety issues and to guide the development of local road safety programs

"It should be noted that there is a discontinuity of serious injury data as a result of the implementation of the new Police Traffic Incident System (TIS) in December 2005. A review of data within the new system has found that it is not possible to make a direct comparison of data in the new system to data in the old system.Analysis of serious injury data is only intended to provide an indication of trends over time."
