Learner Approved Motorcycle Scheme

The Learner Approved Motorcycle Scheme (LAMS) identifies motorcycles and scooters that are considered suitable for learners and newly licensed riders.

The scheme will be introduced in mid 2008. VicRoads is now making the necessary changes to legislation, systems and publications.

An approved list of these motorcycles and scooters will be published. The list, which will be updated as new models are approved, will provide details of all motorcycles and scooters that can be used by learners and newly licensed riders.

LAMS will give novice riders access to motorcycles and scooters that are appropriate to their level of experience.

Visit the VicRoads website for more information about which motorcycles and scooters novices can ride.
