Head-on crashes
Head-on crashes on average account for 59 deaths on Victoria’s roads each year.
What the strategy will do
Measures taken under arrive alive 2008-2017 to reduce the incidence and severity of head-on crashes will include:
- Designing new roads and roadsides, and improving existing roads to the safest levels practicable including overtaking lanes, duplication, centre-road barriers, and centre-line rumble lines.
- Setting speed limits according to the safety standards of roads and roadsides.
